Introduction / Overview

SplitNest is a shared-living coordination and roommate expense management application developed by Let’s Shine Studio. This policy explains how the app is designed to handle household information, member records, expenses, settlements, payment confirmation records, and cloud-linked room data.

Information We Collect or Store

SplitNest may store information created or configured by users, including:

Data Handling

SplitNest may use both local device storage and cloud-linked data handling depending on how the user uses the app.

• Household information, member records, expenses, settlements, and settings may be stored locally on the device.
• When sign-in, room binding, or cloud collaboration features are used, relevant records may also be synchronized through cloud service infrastructure.
• The app may use Firebase-related services, Google Cloud services, or similar cloud infrastructure for sign-in, cloud data storage, and synchronization support.
• The app is not designed to sell personal data.
• The app is not designed to use third-party advertising trackers for ad targeting in the current version.

Room Data Visibility

Room data may be visible to users who join the same room. Shared records may need to remain available to room members for consistency, settlement history, audit records, dispute reduction, or group operation reliability.

Payments

SplitNest is not a banking app and does not process real money transfers. SplitNest does not connect to bank cards or payment accounts. Any payment confirmation inside the app is only a record between users.

Backup and Local Control

Users may use available in-app tools to export backup content, import backup content, clear local data, and manage household information. Users remain responsible for exported backup files after export.

Data Sharing

SplitNest is not designed to sell user data. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers as needed to support cloud-linked app functions when those functions are used. If the user contacts support by email, Let’s Shine Studio may receive the user’s email address and any information voluntarily included in the message.

User Responsibility

Users should avoid entering bank account numbers, identity documents, full addresses, sensitive personal information, or unnecessary private details into expense descriptions or member names.

Data Retention and Deletion

Users may delete or manage data according to the app’s available features. Some cloud or shared records may remain for group consistency, settlement history, audit records, legal compliance, backup integrity, or operational reliability.

Future Features

If future versions add advertising, analytics, subscription, paid services, or additional third-party services, this Privacy Policy should be updated before or when those features are introduced.

Children’s Privacy

SplitNest is not specifically directed to children.
